A couple of Sherborne Notices

Just two brief things:

  1. After our planting of oak saplings a couple of weeks ago I ended up with more tools than I started, namely a small garden fork and a large socket spanner thing. Let me know if either belong to you and I'll deliver to your door.

On the subject of Oaks we still have some "Ancestor Oaks" spare. Shout if you want one. Sherborne School have asked for one to be planted in the school grounds next week, to mark the end of tenure of the current Head (I think) and of course we will be happy to oblige. I have provided or earmarked another three of four to local residents. We'll return to the naming of each tree with a brass plaque later in the year,

  1. This notice has appeared on village notice boards and also on the Parish Council website:

This refers to a drop in session to allow us to understand the developing plans for a solar array just to the West of Windrush Camp on the far side of the A40, I think just out of sight of the road. My understanding is (and I may be wrong ) is that the proposal might include the creation of a cooperative of the NT Renewable Energy team and local residents and businesses, which could result in discounted electricity for residents off Sherborne and Windrush. I saw an article in the press a few weeks ago suggesting that the NT renewable team had struggled last year but the current Gulf crisis probably changes all the equations back in favour of such projects. I note that this is not the local NT team but a team based in the North -East specialised in dealing with such projects. I, like many of you, will be interested and I'm sure there will be planetary of questions. See you there, maybe.

Just a reminder too that at the Parish Council website you can sign to get weekly updates of local news.
