All change for the Sherborne Brook Group Posts
Bye bye Substack, hello Ghost
In one month’s time I will be migrating from “Substack” to “Ghost”, a different platform. The migration should not require any effort from you at all, (I hope). You will continue to get the Brook Group posts by email, but under a different umbrella. You’ll also be able to view our previous posts on a website as they will “come with us”.
In terms of GDPR, the new platform has only your email address, and nothing more, and will hold these at a European data centre, under strict GDPR rules. It will never be shared. It’s safer there than on my PC, and safer there than email addresses kept in your manuscript address book. As before, if you are bored silly by my idiotic, self-centred ramblings you can unsubscribe at any time and your email address will not be retained by the system, nor will I be offended. If you have any difficulty, ping me and I will do it manually. Subscription to the Brook Group emails will remain entirely free and always will be. I don’t do this for the money or for a pat on the head!
To repeat, I hope that the transition in early March will be seamless and require no effort on your part. Sit back and let it happen for you.
There will be only one or two more Substack posts before we go live on Ghost. Substack will then die for us, long live Ghost. If you have other subscriptions on Substack then I expect they will continue but there will soon be clear water between the Brook Group and Substack.
