Sherborne Lizard.
Just a short post.
- Serena reports finding a tiny common lizard in her house the other day. I've not seen any lizards in the local area. Maybe you have, but it's nice to see this one has been spotted.
- An interesting development with regards to the Bourton on the Water Sewage Treatment Works. You will recall that we are awaiting a response to our questions, which are due in the middle of September. However, Thames Water have engaged directly with me and offered to host a visit to the Bourton on the Water sewage treatment works. I'm taking along with me Andrew Woolley from the Sherborne parish council and Jack Knott from the Windrush Catchment Partnership. I think this is a positive step from Thames Water. We will, of course, be asking some very candid questions and will report back to you. - There is also the report of some recent concerning observations that we noticed (thank you, Ben) on the Sherborne Brook down near the lower bridge, "Wadlands Bridge". This was investigated and reported to all the necessary organisations, including the National Trust and the Environment Agency. As it turns out, it was just a phenomenon due to recent extreme heat, but we all maintain a continuing watching brief on this area. A good example of the local community, and local bodies and the National Trust working together.
