Sherborne Planning Issues and more Galls
You can have your say on the planning.
Just a reminder, from my earlier post, that there is currently a window for villagers to comment on the Planning Application put in by the National Trust which has implications to the Sherborne Brook and the associated listed parkland and conservation area.
The planning documents are available on the CDC website at this link.
On the CDC website you can comment in support, in objection or neutral, as you see fit. I’m not going to give my own opinion in this medium, because I’m conflicted because of the impact to my property. If you wish, I understand, you can anonymise your submission by passing your comments to a member of the Parish Council.
The Parish Council are fulfilling their role diligently, as you can see from this link.
You will note that the Parish Council are conducting a survey of villagers, and also commissioning an independent hydrological study to inform decisions. I’d urge you to submit your comments using their survey and, if you feel it is appropriate, contribute towards the cost of the hydrological study. The Parish Council don’t have much spare £££, so if you can spare a donation I think it will allow the Parish Council and others to make a better assessment of the proposed plan. Talk to your nearest Parish Councillor.
Whichever way you look at this, this is a potentially significant change to the landscape design in the heart of Sherborne, and is worthy of your thoughts. Currently the deadline for comment is 22 October. Don’t hang about, have your democratic say.

Recently I posted some pics of an acorn gall and asked if you had seen any too - Amanda has sent me great pics of some oak apple galls and a “spangle gall”.

The nature of these various wasp generated galls is remarkable. The majority I have seen have been at the extremities of the branches - does this match your observations?
